Human Rule of Earth is Ending

The Russia-Ukraine war has produced misery and death, along with millions of refugees, and shows no sign of ending. The West, led by America, pours weapons into the conflict but otherwise stands by and watches Ukraine being reduced to rubble. America is now threatening China and Russia with more sanctions and a massive military buildup. The possibility of WWIII between nuclear armed powers grows ever more probable, and the result will be human extinction. Yet the Powers will not stand down or consider diplomatic solutions.

The planet, saturated with greenhouse gases from burning fossil fuels, continues to warm. Droughts, floods, fires, dangerous and more frequent weather events, and mass migration have become the norm. Climate scientists warn us that it is accelerating and the window for action is closing. But fossil fuel billionaires continue to bribe politicians to do nothing. And the Supreme Court in the US just neutered the Environmental Protection Agency's ability to regulate emissions. Despite the clear warning in Revelation 11:18, that, "God will destroy those destroying the earth," conservative Christians, deceived by oil company propaganda, fight against any attempts to limit emissions and build sustainable infrastructure. One might think this curse in Revelation would cause all Christians to reflect, but apparently not.

There is enough food in the world to feed everyone, and more than enough, if we minimize meat, which produces massive amounts of greenhouse gases in its production. But the problem is greed and inefficient distribution systems. It is shocking that many in the wealthy West are suffering from obesity while children in poor countries die at the rate of tens of thousands per day from starvation. The war in Ukraine has impacted the grain harvest there, and the result will be massive starvation in poor countries.

One of the most important functions of government is to provide stability and security to its people. Yet in America, there are more guns than humans, and mass shootings are now almost a daily occurrence. And whenever attempts are made to limit the number of weapons, or to prevent potentially violent people from obtaining them, conservative politicians, funded by the NRA and gunmakers, block all attempts. And so the mass killing continues unabated while conservative politicians are paid off to do nothing beyond "thoughts and prayers."

During the Covid pandemic, rich nations of the West had several vaccines to choose from, while poor countries had none. Canada just recently destroyed millions of expired doses of Astrazeneca due to their unpopularity. Pfizer and Moderna, supported by the US government, refused to allow poor countries to use their technology, while Moderna created several new billionaires from their board, and refused to acknowledge the help of government scientists in vaccine development. But at the same time, conservative politicians denied Covid was a serious issue. Dr. Birx, who was on the Trump administration's Covid team, estimates that Trump was likely responsible for 30-40% of the Covid deaths due to his lies about the pandemic and vaccines and the generally incompetent response to the pandemic. Other countries with more responsible governments did much better, but overall, governments were unprepared and corporate greed ensured poor countries did not get the help they needed.

We could talk about corporations knowingly poisoning drinking water, harsh Western domination of poor countries, the subversion of democracy, new billion$ for an upgraded nuclear arsenal, the dying of oceans, the persecution of whistle-blowers, and the manipulation and deceiving of the masses through corporate media, in league with government. But it should be obvious, that humankind is unable to solve its most basic problems. History has shown that human governments will never bring about a secure, just, and sustainable world. The oligarchs and billionaires that rule earth, along with their political stooges, either don't want it, or are incapable of delivering it. Either way, their rule of earth has failed miserably and they need to be replaced if humanity is going to survive.

Jesus, in Matthew 24, told us earthquakes, wars, famines, and other disasters were to be expected as we approached the time of his return. In Daniel 2, we are told that a rock (representing Christ and God's Kingdom) would be hurled at the statue representing world powers, pulverizing them. It would then expand to fill the earth. Jesus will then rule as King over earth, bringing in an era of justice, peace, security, joy, pure worship, and abundance. War will be no more. Oil billionaires and oligarchs will be gone. Pandemics and starvation? Gone. Liars, thieves, violent people, and sexual abusers will be no more. Revelation 21:1-5 puts it this way:

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

For Christians who have not been deceived by corporate media, corrupt pastors, and compromised politicians, our prayer should be (as Jesus taught us):

Let your Kingdom come

Let your will be done

On earth, as in heaven.

Come Lord Jesus! We need you now more than ever!
